Where to Splurge and Where to Cut in Your Budget

A lot of brides and grooms these days are looking to trim down on the budget of their weddings.

With the economy teetering on it’s edge and life feeling unpredictable, a wedding can feel like a lavish expense to just go all out on. But it doesn’t have to be!

The number one thing we hear is “What vendors can we do without?” Our quick and easy answer to that is “YOU NEED ALL OF THEM!”

To have a seamless and gorgeous day, you simply have to have the whole team. And it needs to be a good team. Who would the Avengers be without Iron Man? (Literally had to Google team members of the Avengers…) But our point is this—don’t cut out vendors. Just go a little more simple with what you’re doing.

If you want the party to go all night, we get that. But all night means paying the DJ, caterer, bartenders and staff all night, too. It means keeping the drinks and snacks flowing. It means making sure you book transport for all of the people who have been drinking for 6+ hours.

If you want your wedding to look flawless, we get that, too. But most of the time, people don’t even notice the little things that you spend so much time and money on—favors, a full bar, a massive cake, ornate invitations.

All of these things end up adding up and costing A LOT.

So trim down. Find the things that you think no one will actually be paying attention to and go a little less. And above all else, DO NOT SKIMP ON FLOWERS!

A well done bouquet, arbor piece and centerpieces can make or break the vibe of your wedding. They are the focal pieces and should be highlighted always. They don’t have to be over the top and massive. Just well-executed and tasteful.

This wedding is one of our favorites because they did an excellent job trimming down on the big things, without sacrificing the look and feel of their wedding. The bride did an incredible bouquet, stunning arbor and kept it simple with signature cocktails, a smaller cake and the wedding was under 6 hours total.

And the best part? You literally can’t tell.

Weddings can be costly, but they don’t have to rob you blind. Just be mindful and intentional and you can still make your gorgeous day happen without breaking the bank!
